There is no technical reason why a Internet website / service would not work correctly with our VPN service.

We have not found anything to date that won't work; in essence it's nothing more than a secure connection to the Internet.

Yes, unless your ISP is filtering your traffic. VPNs are basically tunnels from your computer to ours

we then we let you use our connection to access the Internet, keeping you anonymous.

Those extra hops will always add latency; although we are talking about 10's of milliseconds. 

A good example would be gaming services, they get great pings using our services due to low level packet tweaking;

it makes up for the extra hops. Placement of our servers near major game companies is key also and not a fluke.

Yes you can run it on any computer, and many devices but you will need superuser privileges

 on your PC to be able to configure and establish the VPN network connection.

Any data packets that move across a publicly shared network like the Internet are potentially vulnerable to tampering.

VPNs address that  issue by employing multiple security mechanisms including strong encryption.

In most cases, security vulnerabilities will be introduced by the users, rather than the system.

PPTP includes an encryption strength equal to the strength your bank uses to secure your money.

OPENVPN goes a few steps farther by delivering security of up to 2048 bit encryption (very strong).

All you can do is test no real tools exist for checking connectivity.

Follow the error codes, hard blocks like code 800 with PPTP could be a firewall on your side.

AVG, zone alarm can also by default block PPTP VPN's from working along with

some internet routers Linksys for example have configuration options for PPTP.

With OPENVPN if you can visit https://www.vpnpop.com and if the page appears OPENVPN will

work in your area. If it's blocked chances are your government has blocked our servers.

You will need to subscribe at this point and contact support as we have alternate servers.

Test some more, check google it might just be common knowledge that your country does in fact block PPTP VPN's.

Yes, we have a few servers in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto Canada is on the east coast of North America.

No we can't; you still need your existing (Cable, DSL, dial up, Satellite) Internet connection to be able to use a VPN service.

BANDWIDTH LIMITS

Free users have a restricted upload and download limit this works out to be about 3x the speed of a 5.6k modem.

SERVER LIMITS

Because of the high costs with this effort only our New York server cluster may be used for free accounts.

We have subscription packages for $2.40 USD that allow access to more servers and remove your time limits.

If your capable of paying $2.40 help out the people who can't pay - either because of harsh economics or no

billing providers willing to process the transactions.

This OPENVPN desktop client is for use with profiles. In some cases

OPENCONNECT will not function in your country due to blocks

at that point OPENVPN via the old desktop client is your only option.

Once running the VPN service will be tunneled through port 443 the same port as SSL.

We are also running UDP services on port 1194; udp is easy to block and usually is 

in highly censored countries.

1) Please check your spam folder although rare our emails have shown up as trash.

2) Yahoo.com likes to block our system from time to due to the amount of emails we send.

    The ongoing problem has yet to be resolved. Delays can be as long as four hours.

You must be currently authenticated then visit:

Check the main page of VPNPOP to make sure you are not currently connected.

Only one login at a time maybe something bugged?, left it on at the office?

You may disconnect from the front page. Then try to login again.

OPENVPN users please note disconnection in this manner will also revoke your certificate.

If you have a trial account you may have used up your time for the day subscribe or try again tomorrow.

Error code 800 is very generic, but in general it means you could not contact the server period.

1) Code 800 could be a firewall issue - disable windows firewall - disable AVG.

     If the code goes away after changing your firewall settings then you can add a rule to exempt PPTP (port 1723)

2) Some routers have settings to allow PPTP pass thru make sure your router has this enabled.

3) Some routers are broken - try to bypass your router plug directly into your modem.  if it works you can rule out your PC.

4) Make sure our system does not think your logged in. Disconnect yourself from the main webpage.

5) Code 800 is a hard fail on an attempt to connect to port 1723. Open port 1723 for outbound connections.

6) Sometimes rebooting just works.

619 means you connected almost:

1) Account not activated:

    Yes it's an important step you can't login till we verify your email address.

2) Trial bytes used for today:

    Downloaded to much, this only applies to OPENVPN accounts.

3) Free trial time exhausted for the day:

    You, or someone using your IP address already used up a trial account

4) Wrong Password Or Username:

    YOUR VPNPOP.COM LOGIN IS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS

5) You are currently connected:

    Sometimes stale sessions result from bad network connectivity in this case disconnect yourself from the main page.

6) GRE Failure, check your router for PPTP pass through. 

    Connect your PC directly to your cable modem - isolate your problem.

    If it works as expected you know it's a problem with your router.

This should only happen with Trial accounts:

1) Been online over the alloted time?  - trial accounts have a 30-60 minute time limit per day.

2) Transferred to much data? - trial accounts can only transfer 100-200 megabytes per day.

PPTP subscribers can use our OPENVPN services with increased limits:

1) One Hour a day and a max of 1 gigabyte transfer.

2) PPTP users will not be charged for using OPENVPN inside these limits.

Our system will disconnect you if any of these limits are breached.

Paid users with openvpn packages will also be disconnected if your daily

gigabyte limit has been reached - please just wait till midnight server time.

Uninstall OPENVPN we have done a major upgrade using a new client called OPENCONNECT

With all new software comes bugs in our testing of the new client we

found the following fixes when all hope seems lost.

1) OPENCONNECT client refuses connect. Sits at switching servers, or waiting for connection forever.

    Close all your browsers and reconnect to vpnpop.com and try the connection again.

2) When switching servers my client loops polling over and over never to connect.

    When switching servers some magic is going on with keys in the background.

    Head down to your task tray and right click the OPENCONNECT icon

    FIND OPENCONNECT IN THE TASKTRAY

     FORCE CONNECT TO THE SERVER, IE BYPASS WEBPAGE AND VPNPOP.COM

Autologin features are an optio, although have a one time feature cost of $15 per datacenter / per account.

Many of us here use the iPhone - it's always worked on WIFI.

Depending on your carrier VPN services may or may not work on the 3g/4g network.

IE your carrier wants extra money to enable your dataplan to use a vpn service.

Call your carrier or just stick to WIFI or better yet send a complaint to a local regulator.

Please note UAE, Dubai, Oman many small gulf countries have very strict firewalls. PPTP will always fail in these

countries OPENVPN via the desktop client is your best bet.

What about my account security?
